Frequently Asked QuestionsS
FreshX Tissue Spritz is the eco-friendly alternative to plastic wet wipes by turning tissue into a fresh wipe.
Are wet wipes bad for the environment?
Over 1 billion wetwipes are flushed down our toilets every year and end up in our waterways where they meet up with fats, oils and grease to form fatbergs which cost us millions of pounds to remove, those that do manage to scape end up in our oceans where they will gradually decompose over hundreds of years forming microplastic and ending up in our marine life. – yet almost all wetwipe brands adverise their products as “flushable” Well… anything is flushable, even your mobile phone is flushable but its not good for the environment, same as wetwipes.
Why should I use FreshX Tisue Spritz ?
Why is the Freshx bottle made from plastic?
We can’t use glass bottles as not only is it breakable but it has a heavy environmental footprint, we cant use compostable bottles as the shelf life is too short, the environmental advantages have not been proven and the infrastructure for handling them is not yet fully available. We are constantly looking into alternatives and are working with our suppliers to find a material which will not compromise our product or the environment.
However every FreshX bottle is made from PETE1 kerbside recyclable plastic which makes for a greener cleaner environment.
Will FreshX block the sewers and drains?
No, FreshX is absorbed by the toilet tissue. It doesn’t affect its absorbency nor solidifies. The toilet tissue breaks down quickly as normal in the sewer system. Wet wipes which claim to be flushable contain plastic which are not biodegradable and will take hundreds of years to break down into smaller pieces of plastic which end up in our food chains. They combine with fats and grease to form fatbergs which cost water companies millions of pounds to remove. Even wetwipes disposed in landfills will take hundreds of years to break down.
